Mr. B's Collection: Buying a spared no expense collection!
Mr. B approached us to clear out his collection of bikes and parts accumulated over the last 10 years or so, totaling five bikes and around 80 parts. The standout pieces were five Giant TCR SLs, each equipped with Campagnolo Super Record/Super Record EPS and premium Carbon Campy wheelsets.
Recognizing the niche appeal of TCR’s with Super Record EPS and top end Campy Carbon wheels, we decided to offer for the individual parts as opposed to the full bikes, anticipating a more competitive value. After an initial discussion and Mr. B providing a detailed spreadsheet of his collection, we extended a cash offer, which he promptly accepted.
Mr B drove the Bikes over from up North to our Warehouse in London and we arranged a box and collection for the smaller items. Our box and collection service means that we can collect from anywhere in the UK with minimal hassle. As expected, Mr B had packaged these meticulously.
Mr. B's meticulous care for his bikes was evident, with comprehensive documentation, original manuals, and regular servicing. The disassembly of the bikes, including the challenging removal of overtightened crank bolts, was handled with care.
The four TCR SLs, with an estimated retail cost of over £10,000 each, featured the impressive Campagnolo Hyperon wheels, known for their exceptional climbing prowess. The carbon hubs, weighing in at 1350 grams, left a lasting impression on us. A buyer, in search of these wheels for three years, acknowledged their rarity.
The collection of parts boasted exclusively Super Record components, from chainrings to EPS spares, along with extras like Michelin Pro 4 tires and Ultegra R8000 SPD pedals. Noteworthy were the lightly used Record 11 Speed Titanium Cassettes, with around 13 available for purchase on our website at the moment.
In wrapping up, this clearance was a unique and enjoyable experience for us. We extend our gratitude to Mr. B for being an exceptionally meticulous seller.
